Fair Winds Trading Inc - http://www.fairwindonline.com/aboutfairtrade.aspWe believe that fair trade relationships with suppliers in Asia, South America and Africa will help ensure the sustainable development of countries in these regions. By ensuring that the money goes directly to craftsmen and women we have a positive impact on their lives and the lives of their families. Fair trade is all about offering a better deal to small producers and craftspeople in the developing world. By paying fair prices for goods and services, Fair Winds Trading ensures that they make sufficient money to reinvest in their businesses and in the well-being of their staff. By following fair trade principles we ensure that: - The producers are paid enough to cover the costs of sustainable production and living - Long term business relationships are established that allow the producers to plan - Working conditions are acceptable and that no child labor is used. Rainforest Conservation Foundation - Panama - in development phase at this time |
Ufadili – http://www.ufadili.com/about.php Thankfully, there are many organizations that do incredible work toward making this world better for all beings. At Ufadili, we especially love and will contribute 30% of our profits to these charities. Ufadili was founded on the philosophical cornerstone of conscious consumerism. I had an idea of a place where the simple decision of buying a shirt for my daughter or a onesie for my son could be a great connecting experience - an experience that connected us artistically, culturally, educationally and charitably to the rest of the world. In this spirit came the concept for Ufadili , a name inspired by the Swahili word " ufadhili " meaning "kindheartedness, goodwill". Along with every Ufadili garment is a special "World Tag" that shares fascinating facts and several language translations of the design on the clothing (click World Tag) and a "Giving Tag" indicating which of the four, self selected organizations receive 30% of our profit s from your purchase (click Giving). Ufadili garments are made by a fair trade, sweatshop free manufacturer and all print materials are made of 100% recycled paper products. Everyday I feel a personal obligation to not only be deeply grateful for my circumstances, but also to try and improve the lives of others. My ultimate hope is that through Ufadili we can help raise awareness and monies for organizations that work tirelessly to recognize, aid, and celebrate the extraordinary wonder of each life and our world. |
Heifer International - www.heifer.org
Heifer International works with communities to end hunger, poverty and to care for the earth. A simple idea of giving families livestock, a source of food, rather than short-term relief caught on and has continued for almost 60 years. Heifer's strategy is to "pass on the gift." As people share their animals' offspring with others - along with their knowledge, resources, and skills - an expanding network of hope, dignity, and self-reliance is created that reaches around the globe. |

| WildAid - www.wildaid.org WildAid provides direct protection for wildlife in danger. One of WildAid's primary goals is to address the illegal wildlife trade so that endangered species and their habitats are protected. Rather than carrying out extended research, WildAid has frontline programs that directly address the entire trade cycle from poaching to smuggling to consumption. WildAid fights the illegal wildlife trade through specialized enforcement units, building capacity within foreign organizations to protect parks and helping local communities find sustainable opportunities for economic growth. |
